Reinterpretations of early humanity and their art, presented through a contemporary lens.
The exhibition will comprise 20–30 mixed media works, alongside a selection of sculptures integrated within the museum’s collections. It offers a lens onto the distant past, while prompting reflection on human progress. Featuring an interactive installation designed to engage younger visitors, the project further examines early patterns of human migration in search of sanctuary, revealing parallels that continue today.
“Coastal Northwest Italy and much of France are know habitats for early man. Time spent traveling and living in this region has had a profound impact on my art, discoveries that have ignited artistic exploration,” says Patrizia. “These and further discoveries and research are the inspiration for my upcoming solo museum exhibition.“
Museo MarVentimiglia, located on the Italian Riviera overlooking Monaco, is one of Western Europe’s most important early Upper Paleolithic archaeological sites. Together with the Balzi Rossi Museum, it houses exceptional prehistoric discoveries and artifacts, including material from the Vallée des Merveilles.
In 2019 Patrizia’s museum exhibition “Mother Earth: In Our Hands” emphasized our collective need to care for the earth. Due to its success and visitor volume the two month show was extended to three, the concept incorporated into the museum’s curriculum for visiting schools.

Museo MARVentimiglia is located within La Fortezza dell’Annunciata on the Grand Corniche road. Many of the Roman and medieval artifacts from this region’s archeological digs are housed within. The vast, 40,000 square foot structure stands on the remains of 11th century San Lazaro church, expanded into a Franciscan monastery in the 14th century. Much of the original architecture with a beautiful colonnade and courtyard — and a few fresco’s make up the lower quarters of the museum. The site was transformed into an impregnable fortress by the Duchy of Savoy’s in order to strengthen the city’s defensive network and western border between Pre-Italy and France. It was again expanded during the Napoleonic wars and later utilized in both world wars.
Founded in 1937, a restoration and renovation recently took place partly funded by the EU. The Museo MarVentimiglia, and Museo preistorico dei "Balzi Rossi" e zona archeologica are sister museums under the Istituto Internazionale di Studi Liguri, Genova, under the direction of Dott. ssa Daniela Gandolfi, PHD.
