Well, it's a marvelous night for a moondance

With the stars up above in your eyes

A fantabulous night to make romance

'Neath the cover of October skies”

1st verse to Moondance by American singer songwriter Van Morrison

“Awakened in the middle of the night by a brilliant luminescence I was enticed to discover the source.” Says Patrizia about her experience ['neath such a moonlit sky]." “Viewed from the terrace it was a mystical, dazzling sight — this moon poised over Caribbean waters,” an impression that 20 year later continues to inspire her art.

Patrizia's mythical deity “Diana,” the huntress and goddess of the moon; “Luna” a series of five mixed media canvases; and now “Moondance” to be unveiled this June  at NAG Art Gallery in Pietrasanta, Tuscany.

In preparing the detailed clay bozzette or models for the bronze castings, Patrizia has been deep in re-discovering one of her favorite mediums. It is also a return to her roots, as her very first art piece was created in clay.

A number of mixed media paintings will also be exhibited in the Pietrasanta gallery show, the main cavas of 3 x 2 meters (10 x 6.5 feet) featuring “Mars” as deity and planet.

The choice of history is fundamental in Patrizia's pictographs. Impression from her recent exploration of key Etruscan archeological sites can be found in her new works intertwined with modern images.

Earlier this year, a new mixed media sculpture titled “The Fish” made it to it’s happy new home on the Italian Riviera near France. Situated on a high terrace overlooking azure waters, the 120 x 155 x 30 cm (4 x 5 x 1 foot) sculpture is poised to find it’s way back to sea. Sea-glass, found rocks, repurposed ceramics and other objects are embedded in the specially commissioned, dual sided concrete sculpture. One facet plays tribute to nature and the beautiful gardens that surround the villa, and the other to the sea. The stand holding “The Fish” aloft was designed and patinated to mimic seagrass.
